Child Parent Psychotherapy

  • For children ages birth through 5 years old and their caregivers who have experienced trauma
  • The primary goal of CPP is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and their caregiver as a vehicle for restoring the child's cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning

Attachment and BioBehavioral Catch Up 

  • For young infants and toddlers ages 6 months to 48 months and their caregiver(s)
  • This is a 10 session, parent-coaching focused intervention for caregivers and their young child and focuses on helping parents to nurture and respond sensitively to their child in order to help foster their development and buffer against the impact of trauma. Sessions are virtual. 

MWPH Parenting Group 

  • For parents of young children ages 2-8 years old with behavioral issues, such as tantrums, noncompliance, aggression, and also children who have been exposed to trauma
  • This group is a structured 12 session group for parents of young children and provides support to parents on how to manage behavioral problems in children. The group is currently virtual. 

Attachment, Regulation and Competency

  • For children and teens ages 4-18 years old 
  • ARC is a framework for intervention with youth and families who have experienced multiple and/or prolonged traumatic stress. ARC is often incorporated into other types of trauma therapies.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • For children and teens ages 4-18 years old and their caregivers 
  • Evidenced-based treatment for traumatic stress in children and teens 
  • Includes trauma narrative processing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing 

  • For children and teens ages 5-18 years old 
  • EMDR is a therapy used to help children cope with traumatic experiences. In the therapy, the child recalls a distressing memory while moving their eyes from side to side or engaging in another form of physical stimulation on one side of the body and then the other. This helps the body and brain to process traumatic memories and make them less overwhelming. 

MWPH Grief Group 

  • For children and teens ages 5-18 years old 
  • Group therapy for children who have experienced grief and loss. Groups are offered in person and virtual and are organized based on the child's age and development.
