For Immediate Release September 10, 2020

BALTIMORE, MD (September 11)- Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) celebrates Keri Acree, who was recognized as a “Top Nurse” by Baltimore magazine in its 2020 Excellence in Nursing awards. She was acknowledged in the pediatric neonatal category for her work at MWPH’s Center for Infant Specialty Care. Keri was among 68 who were honored for extraordinary contributions to health care in the region.

"We're incredibly proud of the excellent nursing team at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital," said Sheldon Stein, president and CEO, MWPH. "From our inpatient units to our outpatient clinics, our nurses provide top care to our young patients, and Keri is a great example of their efforts."

In a process that took nine months due to the pandemic, Baltimore magazine collected hundreds of nurse nominations; of those, 68 were chosen in 18 nursing specialties as tops in the region. The nurses were celebrated in a virtual ceremony on September 8 and are featured in Baltimore magazine's September issue. Director of Outpatient Services, Chrissie Heimer, served as a member of the advisory committee.

“Keri is an amazing unit leader and bedside clinician,” said Tina Humbel, Nurse Manager. “She possesses the skills and compassionate characteristics our patients and families love! She is a true icon of Mt. Washington and the standards for which we are known.”
