MWPH Announces 10th Annual Storybook Gala
"Although this role is new to me, I am a former patient parent, a long-time supporter of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and have volunteered with the Gala committee for years," said Cohen, “I am honored to help lead such a dedicated group of committee volunteers and am grateful for all of our generous supporters who, together, will make this important event truly legendary.”
Since the event’s inception in 2014, the Storybook Gala has raised more than $2.7 million for much-needed funding to support the advanced specialty programs and services MWPH provides for more than 9,000 children, annually.
“We actively try to teach our children that with good fortune comes the responsibility to lead by example and to give back—a practice that can live for future generations,” said Dennis Weinman. “For 10 years, Mandy and I along with our sons Dillon and Benjamin, have been proud to support Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s Storybook Gala. This year, the tradition continues and it is extra special to be able to be the presenting sponsor of this signature event. We look forward to celebrating all the ‘magical’ work that this institution does for so many.”
The 2025 Storybook Gala will include a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, both a silent auction and live auction, “Fund-A-Wish" appeal, and much more fun with its magical theme.
Community events leading up to the April gala will raise excitement and support for the major event including Walking with Grace scheduled for September 29.

About Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital
Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital has provided more than 100 years of family-focused, integrated care to children with serious, chronic, or complex medical needs. MWPH was founded in 1922 by Hortense Kahn Eliasberg who sought to open a home where children could safely recover from illness and surgery. Today, the hospital treats over 9,000 patients each year, helping them to heal, grow, and learn the skills that lead to happier, more independent lives. The 102-bed hospital is a jointly owned affiliate of the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Medicine with locations in Baltimore City, Prince George’s County, Harford County, via Telehealth, and in the community.
