Phyllis C. Meyerhoff Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation is an inpatient unit that offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for infant-to-adolescent aged children with orthopedic, neurological, and developmental diagnoses.

Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic strategy used by physical and occupational therapists. The therapists facilitate automatic movement patterns to strengthen specific muscle groups with the goal to optimize a child’s motor development.

Universal Exercise Unit Therapy
Universal Exercise Unit (Spider Cage) Therapy is provided in our Ability Center. The unit is a three sided wire walled space that allows a therapist to use a variety of bungees, belts, pulleys and/or weights to provide individually determined support and strengthening.

Intensive Rehabilitation Day Program
Our team of rehabilitation clinicians develop individual goals for your child to plan for their intensive therapy programming. The child participates in multiple individually planned sessions five days a week for 3 weeks.

Child Life and Therapeutic Recreation Specialists at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital focus on the psychosocial, developmental and educational needs of children and promote normal childhood growth and development.

The Therasuit® Method is a soft supportive wearable orthotic suit with a series of hooks and elastic cords that the child wears during specific therapy sessions.

Child Life and Therapeutic Recreation Internship Program
The Child Life & Therapeutic Recreation internship program at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital pairs Interns with a Certified Child Life Specialist or a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who provide supervised and guided experiences with children while supporting the development of professional child life skills and/or therapeutic recreation skills.
