Videofluoroscopy Swallow Studies
Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital provides pediatric, videofluoroscopy swallow study (VFSS). Videofluoroscopy is conducted to view pharyngeal structures, determine abnormalities, and risks, as well as determine success with compensatory strategies related to swallow. Children receive an assessment, in order to identify and describe strengths and deficits related to their swallow/oral-motor function. This procedure is provided by a team from medicine, radiology and rehabilitation services.
