Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) celebrates four of its “Top Docs” for being recognized by Baltimore magazine in its annual feature highlighting the area’s highest regarded physicians. Additionally, 13 MWPH affiliated doctors are also being recognized.

On November 4, a lively and gracious group of community supporters from around the Baltimore area gathered for the 9^th Annual Storybook Gala. The event, benefiting Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH), raised $447,000 (net)—the most funds raised in the event’s history.

Developmental coordination disorders, sometimes referred to as dyspraxia, affect the initiation, organization and performance of a movement. It involves the partial loss of the ability to perform a purposeful, coordinated movement or gesture.

Developmental delay occurs when the child has not met developmental milestones by the expected time period. Evaluations are performed by pediatric physiatrists and/or rehabilitation therapists at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.

Washington Pediatric Hospital pairs Interns with a Certified Child Life Specialist or a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who provide supervised and guided experiences with children while supporting the development of professional child life skills and/or therapeutic recreation skills.
