MWPH Announces 11th Annual Storybook Gala
BALTIMORE, MD (October 7) - Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) announces plans for its 11th Annual Storybook Gala. Gala chair, Kate Cohen, revealed the gala will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, 6:30 p.m., at the Marriott Owings Mills Metro Center. Cohen also shared that next year’s theme is based on the popular children’s book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. The Weinman Family (Mandy, Dennis, Dillon and Benjamin) will once again serve as the gala's Presenting Sponsor.
“It is an honor serving my second year as Gala Chair for Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital,” said Cohen. “I have been so lucky to witness how our Storybook Gala—now in its 11th year—continues to grow and transform, just like The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We couldn’t do any of it without the help of our dedicated committee and generous supporters! The committee and I are excited to create a spectacular evening that celebrates the resilient children and families.”
Since the event’s inception in 2014, the Storybook Gala has raised more than $3.2 million for much-needed funding to support the advanced specialty programs and services MWPH provides for more than 8,000 children, annually.
“Supporting a treasured institution like Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is a no brainer for us and it’s a practice we hope will carry on for future generations,” said Dennis Weinman. “For the second year in a row, Mandy and I, along with our sons Dillon and Benjamin, are proud to serve as the gala’s presenting sponsor and celebrate the hospital’s continued growth and transformation—much like The Very Hungry Caterpillar—that takes place every day at MWPH.”
The 2026 Storybook Gala will include a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, both a silent auction and live auction, “Fund-A-Wish" appeal, and much more fun with its colorful theme.
