BALTIMORE, MD (April 17) - Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) celebrates five of its “Top Nurses” who are being recognized by Baltimore Magazine in its 2023 Excellence in Nursing awards.

MWPH nurses being honored are:

Kelsey Franklin, BSN, RN, CPN

Carolynn Gavin, RN, CPN

Rachel Gilligan, BSN, RN, CPN

Beth Hewes, RN, CPN

Karen Jordan-Fuller, BSN, RN

 

“Nursing is an incredible career and I’m fortunate to work with some of the most dedicated professionals I’ve ever met.” said Denise Pudinski, MSHCA, BSN, RN, CCM, NE-BC, MWPH’s Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nurse Executive. “To have five of my colleagues receive this prestigious honor speaks to their compassion and commitment to our mission of helping our young patients to heal and grow as they prepare for the next chapter on their journey to full wellness. MWPH nurtures a culture of excellence.”

Hundreds of nurse nominations were submitted and, of those, 140 were chosen in 28 nursing specialties as the best in the region—the metro Baltimore area is home to about 20,000 nurses.

The nurses will be celebrated on May 11 at the Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley and are featured in Baltimore magazine's May issue.
