What is the process to become a volunteer?

  1. Complete and submit the online application HERE.

    2. Provide two letters of reference. Please note, they may not be from family members or employees. Friends and employers are welcome.

    3. Within two weeks of your application, you will be sent documents and health screening information that will need to be completed prior to being granted an interview. If the screenings are not returned within the time allotted, you will be removed from the volunteer database.

a. Confidentiality Form

b. Health Assessment performed and signed by your physician

c. CARES commitment to MWPH standards of care

d. Background Check

e. Flu Vaccination

f. Two Tuberculosis screenings – May be done at Sinai Occupation Health or by your healthcare professional. The screenings must be read within 48-72 hours of taking the test. It is suggested you schedule these for Mon-Wed unless your healthcare professional has weekend hours to read them.

g. Drug Screening – Must be done at Sinai Occupational Health

***DO NOT leave Sinai without receipts showing your drug screen consent and a PPD reading, even if they say they will send them over to us.

    4. Once your documentation and health screenings are completed, you will be contacted to arrange an interview with the desired department in which you wish to be assigned. If positions are not available you will be put on the wait list.

As much as we would like to take every applicant, due to the volume of interested applicants, calls for interviews may take a few weeks up to a year.
