Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Pediatric Physiatry
Physiatry, also known as Physical Medicine provides comprehensive evaluation and management of the medical and physical problems associated with pediatric onset disabilities.
These diagnoses include but are not limited to:
- cerebral palsy
- brain injury
- spina bifida
- neuromuscular disease
- developmental delay
- brachial plexus palsy
- multiple trauma
- prematurity
After a detailed assessment of a patient's needs, the physiatrist will provide: medical intervention resulting in the possible prescription of rehabilitation therapy and or adaptive equipment.
Additional services also include comprehensive interdisciplinary management of spasticity and movement disorders.
