Infusion Services
The Mt.Washington Pediatric Hospital Infusion Service provides intravenous (IV) therapies to pediatric patients in a convenient outpatient setting. Our team approach to pediatric infusion therapy allows us to provide exceptional care for each child.
The Infusion Team:
Our multidisciplinary team is composed of pediatric specialists from medicine, nursing, child life, and pharmacy:
- Our medical staff is made up of physicians and nurse practitioners. A member of the medical staff is immediately available for each child for the duration of each treatment or study.
- Our registered nurses are highly trained in pediatric IV therapy and medication safety. The nurses provide ongoing assessment, treatment and education
- Our child life specialists are available to provide play therapy and procedural support to alleviate anxiety surrounding the visit.
- Our clinical pharmacists work exclusively with pediatric patients and are experienced with pediatric dosing.
Infusion Services:
The Infusion Services are available to patients with a variety of needs ranging from multiple visit IV medication therapy to single infusion for diagnostic testing. Additionally, an on-site laboratory provides the services for any laboratory testing that may be required in conjunction with an infusion.
Location:
The services are provided in the Rosenberg Building on the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital’s Baltimore campus. The Rosenberg Building, with its award winning interior design, is a child friendly and cheerful setting in the heart of the Mount Washington residential district on 23 wooded acres.
