After completion of the required paperwork and lab work, teens will participate in a clinical evaluation with the program medical director and pediatric psychologist at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) to determine if the criteria are met.

If the criteria are met, the patient will have ongoing meetings with a registered dietician and member of the psychology team at MWPH leading to an evaluation process at the Johns Hopkins Center for Bariatric Surgery with a bariatric surgeon to determine the appropriateness of the procedure.
