Autism Spectrum Disorder

What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder characterized by severe deficits in social interaction and communication. Difficulties are noted in thinking, feeling, language and the ability to relate to others. Clinical symptoms vary as does the plan of care for these children. The child’s treatment plan needs to be individualized and may require services from a variety of clinicians. Pediatric psychology is frequently involved in the treatment plan.
