A Summer Evening at the Station - one of Mt. Washington's biggest fundraisers - was a tremendous success this year, with nearly 200 people enjoying a fantastic time, wonderful food, great entertainment and laughter with friends to benefit the patients and programs of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.
Already in its second year, this event included a number of highly desirable items for people to bid on in a silent auction. Items such as a beautiful oriental rug, a weekend rental at a Cape May Victorian-style home, spa retreats, and a Baltimore Orioles package were among those offered for auction to guests.
All around the patio, people chatted and mingled while sampling delightful cuisine, wines, and desserts. The emcee for the evening was the award-winning TV news anchor of FOX 45 News at 10, Jennifer Gilbert. Jennifer helped create a wonderful, lively mood for the event, thanking the very talented Eric Byrd Trio/Brother Ray Band who had people dancing and swaying to old favorites such as "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay," among others.
Jennifer also offered the crowd updates on the silent auction and raffle. FOX 45 featured the event on its news later that night, including a sound bite with Mt. Washington CEO Sheldon Stein, who thanked everyone for their support.
Speaking of thanks, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital would like to offer a big thank you to the winners of the 50-50 raffle, the Powell family, who graciously donated their half of the total collected to the hospital. And, to all who came out June 14th in support of the event and the hospital, thank you for making "A Summer Evening at the Station," something we can all be proud of. Hope to see you again next year!
