BALTIMORE, MD – Grab your cape and get ready to celebrate the superheroes of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) at the third annual Storybook Gala.  Last night, Storybook Gala chair Lauren Perlin announced that the event will be held on May 7, 2016 at the Renaissance Harbor Place Hotel.  Amid superhero tribute music, the gala’s logo and event elements were revealed to a room full of event volunteers.  Perlin also announced that Ruth’s Chris Steak House has come on board as the Presenting Sponsor.

“I am delighted that this year’s theme reflects the super powers of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital,” said Perlin who is a member of the hospital’s foundation board and whose daughter receives therapy services at MWPH. “From the hospital staff and patients to the sponsors and volunteers, everyone will be celebrated as a superhero at the Gala in May.”

Last year more than 600 guests gathered for the second annual Storybook Gala, which was moved to Baltimore County four days prior as events unfolded in Baltimore City.  Hospital supporters showed their support with an increase in both attendance and event proceeds.  The event raised $188,000 – an increase of 70% from the event’s inaugural year – and will be used to support patients receiving inpatient and outpatient services.  More than half of MWPH’s patients receive some form of medical assistance.

“Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital provides critical healthcare services to our most precious resource – our kids – and we are delighted to be associated with this premier specialty hospital,” said Jim Mitich, Big Steaks Management President and COO.  “Ruth’s Chris Steak House values being part of the community and the partnership with MWPH is a natural fit.”

The 2016 Storybook Gala will include dinner and dancing, a silent auction and special “Fund-A-Wish” appeal, as well as other superhero elements such as a toy and clothing drive.  Additional sponsorship information can be found here.  Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to remain updated on Gala happenings.  Tickets will go on sale in January.
