Event's Third Season Called Best Ever
BALTIMORE, MD – Fashion Fever 2012 rocked the runway as kids, teens and adult models showed off the latest spring styles before a large crowd at The Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley on Sunday, May 6 -- all to benefit the patients and programs at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore.
"It is so wonderful to see everyone here - familiar faces and many new ones too - everyone having a great time and helping out a great cause -- the programs to treat sick children at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital," said Sheldon Stein, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital President and CEO.
Maryland native Hilary Phelps, a noted TV lifestyle and fitness expert, and Melissa Scholnick, a Baltimore critical care clinician and longtime friend of the hospital, were this year's Fashion Fever committee co-chairs.
"I spent countless hours only a few miles away at Meadowbrook, but it wasn't until November 2011 that I discovered the great work being done up the hill at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital," said Hilary Phelps as she kicked off the fashion show portion of the event.
The event, which has grown steadily in popularity, raises money for specialty programs at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital like childhood obesity, asthma, pediatric development, rehabilitation, concussion, traumatic brain injury, feeding problems and more (www.mwph.org).
The event also featured a silent auction with some 30 items including Ravens sky box seats, a New York City excursion and high end sports memorabilia.
Classic Catering provided decorations, luncheon and open bar.
In addition to WBAL-TV, media sponsors included The Baltimore Sun Media Group, Style magazine, CBS Radio, Baltimore Internet Social Scene Expert Downtown Diane and WCBM-AM.
