Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, provides inpatient, outpatient and day programs for infants and children with rehabilitation and/or complex medical needs. We are dedicated to maximizing the rehabilitation and development of our patients through the delivery of interdisciplinary services and programs and providing every resource available to enable our patients to attain the highest quality of life within their families and their communities.
In 1922, a medical social worker named Hortense Kahn Eliasberg sought to open a home where children could recuperate from illness and surgery.
Thanks to her efforts, the Happy Hills Convalescent Home for Children opened later that year in a colonial-style house in northwest Baltimore.
Over the next 80 years, Happy Hills underwent several dramatic changes, including the construction of a modern facility, three name changes, and a marked shift in the types of conditions and patients it treated.
Today, those who work at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital remain committed to the mission Hortense Kahn Eliasberg established so many years ago - improving the health and well being of all children who are ill, injured, or in need of help.
The primary purpose of the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and its affiliates is to sponsor and promote the provision of the highest quality pediatric health care services in a nurturing environment.
To be a regional leader in pediatric health care, providing service to children and families in their communities.
